I've just finished running Alison through a fairly intensive battery of tests, and it's time for the formal conclusion.

She's cured.

No pain, so sign of the neurological damage that was causing the pain, she has control over her powers again to the point all the sound baffling equipment isn't needed any more, most of the secondary issues, like the digestive problems, are also either completely gone or much improved. Most of the scars from the attack by Sabretooth are gone, and those that are left are as healed as they're going to get. She's slept for the last twenty-four hours, and is still sleeping a bit, but aside from that... there's no reason she can't go back to her own room.

It's a miracle.

Moira, I'm fairly sure you know what's going on with this. Can we talk?

In other medlab news...

Danielle Moonstar: our new arrival who turned up sleep deprived and hypothermic spent two nights in the Box and is much improved, to the point she's been released.

Amanda Sefton: another Sleeping Beauty case - apparently that teacher of hers put the whammy on her so she did sleep, and she's been out until mid-afternoon. Also released, since I'm told she just needs rest and food and again, she does that best in her own room. And to judge from her post, she's found out about the thingamajigger her teacher did to stop her doing magic for a week. None at all - discount her from the roster if anythign else comes up, guys. Looks like we'll be back to good old fashioned medical science.

Nathan Dayspring: Oh for the day when neither he nor Amanda show up on these posts... Nathan's also overloaded his powers and the virus has flared up again. There's no danger, but I would prefer the helpers steer clear for the next day or so. Charles assures us the TK will come back, so he's not at risk, but again, he needs rest and as little stress as possible. I believe we can expect a visit from GW and Domino in the next day or two... There's one other thing... At the moment he's functionally blind. A side-effect of the extreme use of his TK. It should be temporary, but once the virus is stable, we are going to need help from everyone with him.

Cain Marko: Now there's a name I never expected to have to add to this... Cain's still unconscious, but stable. Charles assures us he'll be fine, but for the meantime, he's showing symptoms very similar to a stroke. There's also been a loss of mass and height - again, I'm guessing Moira has the information on that one.

Now, I'm going to go look at these test results again and try to come to grip with the fact my worldview has been skewed once again.

Update time again.

Jonothan Starsmore: Our only actual inpatient. Hank and Moira are working with him, as well as consulting with Charles and Nathan, and Jamie as well. Judging from the long hours, I'd say progress is slow.

Betsy Braddock: Another candidate for restraints next time she's a patient since she apparently checked herself out. I've notified Charles, since it's not so much a physical injury as a psionic one, and I believe he's keeping an eye on her.

Manuel de la Rocha: Last checkup found his ribs are pretty much healed, and his throat issues have cleared up as well. He's still getting the migraines when he pushes himself to remember anything from before the accident, and Charles and Leonard are working extensively with him. With Amanda and Nathan away, we're also keeping an eye on him, making sure he eats etc.

Alison Blaire: Is booked in for her first powers test tonight. Paige is on standby in case of accidents of the laser sort.

Hank, I've sent you an email re Moira and her workload. We'll talk.

Update.

Time for another of those periodic updates on the state of play.

Betsy Braddock: As you're probably aware, she regained consciousness on Saturday, and is slowly regaining her strength. The Professor has been consulted about her condition.

Manuel de la Rocha: Manuel's been released as physically there's not much wrong with him beyond the recurring headaches which seem to be connected to the memory loss. As far the that goes... he remembers little with any strong emotional import, except for Amanda, and his personality has fairly radically changed. He's coming down for regular checks and sessions with Leonard and Charles.

Amanda Sefton: Also released, although hesitantly so. She does tend to recover faster in her own room than in medlab and there's no sign of concussion or internal damage. Her magic tutor has been by and done some kind of ritual with her - he stresses that she be allowed to rest as much as possible.

Marie-Ange Colbert: As per Remy Le beau's post to the community journal, she is no longer in the medlab and is staying with him in the boathouse as he seems to have a calming effect on her. I've asked him to keep us posted on her condition.

Alison Blaire: Her condition continues to improve - she's up to 20% sound now and is allowed out of her room during the nights when there's less traffic and noise. If she continues in this vein she should be able to leave the building in another week or so.

The usual check ups are continuing - Jamie is recovering well from his psychic surgery, Nathan less well from the concussion. The stress is not good for him at all. We're still working on Kyle's food allergies, and making a lot of progress. And Hank and Moira are drawing up a roster to run physicals on the team members since they've been training unmonitored for quite a while now. The only problem is getting enough uninterrupted time to do them.

Also, Moira? You've got the rest of the week off night shift. Don't argue.

Okay, we've got two patients after today's mishap in the boiler room.

Jonothan Starsmore: status currently undetermined. Hank and Moira are taking charge of him, and it's best if the rest of us give them space to work, unless they request otherwise. Clarice, Amanda, this especially means you, considering you're his friends.

Nathan Dayspring: the King of Concussions is back with us again. He's still out, and I'm keeping an eye on him. Amanda, when he's conscious, can you do your healing thing? Concussed telepaths are not fun. Clarice, Rahne, I'll need help with observation, especially since Alison's back down here tonight after her first evening of freedom and I want to give her as thorough exam as I can to make sure things went smoothly. One shift on, one shift off, okay?

Let's get to it, team. We're getting good at this by now.

I got this attached email from Jane about visiting Alison. I've told her not yet, mainly because of the issues regarding the state of Ali's mind right now, but it's something to consider. Hank, Moira, thoughts?

FYI

1) Betsy Braddock: Apparently Charles took care of that issue we were worried about Moira, and the unconscious part is basically her mind healing after a number of stresses over the past year. No indication of how long she'll be out, but she's not in any danger. We'll keep up observation - helpers, I'm looking at you three.

2) Speaking of the helpers... you've done amazing work in the last couple of days, and we're indebted to you. However, this doesn't mean you are going to start going without sleep to stupid degrees. I'm arranging for you to be excused from class for the period you're on call down here, but you'll be given plenty of time to sleep, eat and actually get to talk to someone else other than us.

3) Yes, I know that makes me a hypocrite. Deal. We're busy enough without a) having to look after you and b) not having you available to help.
[identity profile] x-madelyn.livejournal.com
1) It's virtually impossible to suture someone who melts all regular and most irregular suturing materials.

2)There is no limit to the inventiveness of desperate doctors, especially when they have the help of a student whose power is to be inventive. Forge's timing couldn't have been better.

3) Alison can't live without sound. Literally. Luckily we worked that one out after the first cardiac arrest. Thank God Paige and her ruby quartz husk were there.

4) You actually get used to little or no sleep.

5) Although apparently it makes me weird and write lists like these.

Dinner

Okay, I've arranged for Alison to watch over Manuel tonight, and for Kurt to bamf one of us doctors back if we're needed, but we are all going out for that dinner tonight. No arguments.

I'll be out the front with the car at 6pm today. Be there.
[identity profile] x-madelyn.livejournal.com
As you will have noticed from the blessed silence, Illyana Rasputin is back upstairs. Marie-Ange Colbert is also back on her feet, which leaves us with just Douglas Ramsey. I'm expecting to be able to let him out by Wednesday, depending on Amanda's healing spells. Which is not your cue to overdo it, Ms Sefton. I saw how shaky you were after the last session. If it means he spends an extra day with us, so be it.

Once Doug has left us, how about that dinner Moira? Before the next disaster?
[identity profile] x-madelyn.livejournal.com
As you'll know, Doug's sleeping now and should for the rest of the night. The same goes for Marie-Ange - we're keeping her sedated until Doug wakes up so she can see for herself he's all right.

Rahne, Clarice, you're excused from coming down to the medlab if that's what you want - I have it covered, and Amanda's down here helping us. I'm sending Moira back upstairs once the bruising settles on her shin - she can keep an eye on Nathan's flu that way. *innocent look*

I'll ping you if I need any help. Or a coffee refill.
[identity profile] x-madelyn.livejournal.com
Since things have been so crazy, I'm declaring the medlab off-limits for the helpers today. Consider your usual medlab classes cancelled for the day, go out and get what's left of the sun, okay?

Moira, Cecilia... I need to sleep soon before I die. Someone come down to keep an eye on Illyana?
[identity profile] x-madelyn.livejournal.com
I figured it might help us keep track of what's going on when if I toss up a rough appointment book up here. Feel free to add whatever else has been booked in.

1) Nathan Dayspring - experiencing some problems with his vision, related to his TK. Moira's taking this one, for obvious reasons, but I'll be around if needed.

2) Jubilation Lee - Kurt asked us to check on how her arm's healing up, so I've booked her in for x-rays this afternoon when she has a free period. Cece, if I'm tied up when she gets here, do you mind doing the prelim exam?

3) Betsy Braddock - not an appointment per se, more a reminder. I spoke to Scott at the HeliX dance, and he's going to try to get her in for at least an MRI since she won't have the full exam. I went in a bit heavily last time I brought it up with her, so I'm looking at the more persuasive members of our little society to work on her. She hasn't had a follow-up on the brain surgery since March, testament to how sneaky she can be. I'd rather not go through Charles, but if we can't get her down here, I will.

4) Haroun ibn Sallah al-Rashid - will probably be down looking for test results from his experiment with the pool. Moira's doing the analysis, but if he does come down, can someone give his chest a listen to, make sure there's no residual pool water? I know he'll relish the opportunity to take his shirt off. *grins*

5) You'll notice one of the rooms is occupied. For reasons of confidentiality and safety, I'd like to ask that it remains off-limits to the 'helpers'. Visitors should go through me - this particular patient is in a fairly fragile state emotionally and physically, and I don't want any upsets.
[identity profile] x-madelyn.livejournal.com
Our newest patient - and possibly resident, once she wakes up - is one Wanda Lensherr Maximoff, brought in by the X-Men today after an encounter with some people who decided to hijack her flight. She's exhausted, and suffering the effects of a tazer and some hefty sedatives to keep her under control, but she should be up and about again tomorrow.

In the meantime, she's resting and under observation. Until she wakes up and tells us one way or another, I'd appreciate you keeping her identity to yourselves.

Edit: Scott checked her in as "Lensherr", but I've been since notified by the Professor that she uses "Maximoff" instead. Again, until she says otherwise, please respect that. I've changed the charts. Cecilia or Moira, can you take over down here? I desperately need some sun to remind myself it is actually daytime before I curl up under my desk and sleep.
[identity profile] x-madelyn.livejournal.com
It's come to my attention that Betsy has both avoided any further check up after the Kwannon business. I've just sent her an email effectively telling her to come down after classes today or she'll be carried bodily. So can Hank adn Moira be handy? She's going to be pissed at us.
